Your obby is stored on your account slots inside the experience. There is no file export in the update log. A guide that promises a one-click export to Roblox Studio is describing a wish, not a button the developer documented.
Keep the slot
Build in your own slot, reached from Build on the load screen. The game writes the slot as you edit. If a course seems to vanish, check that you are opening your slot and not a blank featured or sponsored gate.
The revert screen uses numbered slots. Published update notes added text so you can see which revert slot you are viewing. Use that screen when an edit, a collaborator, or a bad plugin pass needs to be undone. This guide does not invent a keyboard shortcut for it. Look for the revert control in Settings.
Friends who can edit
The game invites you to build alone or with friends. Edit permission lets another player use the same tools. Only grant it to people you trust. If they delete parts, the revert screen is the recovery path the update notes acknowledge, not a promise that every part can be restored after you clear the obby.
Clearing an obby removes the build. Older public guides mention that a clear does not refund the full part value. The 2026 log does not restate a tax rate, so do not assume a percentage. Treat Clear as permanent.
Favourites, bans, and plugins that touched the part counter
On 23 January 2026 the developer fixed three problems that look like "the game ate my work":
- Favouriting more than 20 obbies no longer succeeds. Stay within 20.
- Banned players could still fly in your obby. That path was closed.
- Reflect and Archimedes were incorrectly changing the part-limit counter when used with character models or cart rides. Recheck the counter after a mirror or arc pass if you last used those plugins before that fix.
Private-server admin
Admin commands exist for private servers. On 9 October 2026 the Server Admin plugin was added so players who cannot use chat can still run those commands in their private server. The plugin button in the top bar is visible even when you are not editing.
This guide does not print a command list. Secondary pages disagree on names, and the developer note only confirms that the commands and the plugin exist. Open the command list the private server shows you.
What to do when a course will not load
- Confirm the slot name. New obbies use your name plus "Obby".
- Wait out the 20 second Play/Build cooldown.
- Rejoin once if you are an existing player who has not collected the 100-part grant from 9 October 2026. That grant is parts, not a restored build, but a rejoin is the step the developer asked for.
- Open the revert screen and pick an earlier numbered slot if the geometry itself is wrong.
- If the course is someone else's, search the Obby ID again. A sponsored copy only lasts an hour on that server.
